With Coronavirus in mind, we wanted to make sure we were making extra nutritious and immunity boosting recipes for our household. I love vibrant fruit that makes me feel like I am on an island somewhere. There is something about orange smoothies that really makes the cells of my body dance! I know the grocery stores can be a hit or miss these days but a good tip is to call your local grocery store to see when they are getting in new shipments of food. Our grocery store, fortunately, always has fresh fruit and vegetables on display so we were able to load up on nutritious food during the quarantine.
This bright orange smoothie gets most of its color from the carrots – but did you know that the color specifically comes from beta carotene? It’s an antioxidant that is converted into Vitamin A when it enters the body. Pineapples are loaded with enzymes that can help fight inflammation and disease. Mango is an alkaline fruit. Alkaline foods with a pH level of 8 or higher help to remove unwanted acid and neutralize our bodily fluids. As we all know, oranges are jam packed full of Vitamin C making this concoction a heavenly treat to bring all of the vitamins and nutrients to your body in a fun way.
1 cup pineapple
1 cup mango
1 tbs honey

Blend all together and serve with garnish and straw!
