What is Delta 8 THC?
Delta 8 THC is a variant form of THC found in very small concentrations in the cannabis plant. Recently, processors have figured out a way to extract and concentrate Delta 8 through synthesis of a hemp derived CBD molecule.
So what’s the difference between Delta 8 THC and Delta 9 THC?
First let’s take a step back into chemistry class and talk about what Delta means in the first place. The Delta part of the name refers to the double bond which both Delta 8 and Delta 9 obtain. The main difference is the location of their double bonds as Delta 9 has a double bond on the 9th carbon chain while Delta 8 has the bond on the 8th carbon chain.
So what are the effects of Delta 8 THC?
The effects of Delta 8 THC have been described as similar to, but less intense than with traditional Delta 9 THC (the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.)
