Things You Need to Know About Delta 8 THC before Buying Delta 8 Gummies

The release of the 2018 Farm Bill has made way for innovation in the hemp industry. Now, Delta 8 THC has become the talk of the town, and many companies are now producing Delta 8 gummies due to a rise in the demand for this cannabinoid. But what is Delta 8 THC? And are delta 8 gummies safe for everyone?

Delta 8 is a lot like Delta 9 THC; however, its psychoactive effects are mellowed down. So, if you don’t enjoy the crazy high you get from Delta 9, you’ll love the subtle effects of Delta 8. One would just have to truly understand the dosing amount and to always start low and increase based on effect. In addition, you’ll be able to enjoy all the health benefits, those that are like Delta 9. If you want to learn more about Delta 8 and CBD products, click here to read our blogs.

ATLRx has been providing CBD and other hemp products and cannabinoids that act as an alternative to unhealthy prescription medication since 2019. So, whether you want to buy Delta 8 gummies or Delta 8 flower, we’re here to help!

Now, let‘s get into our main topic of discussion and take a look at everything you need to know before buying and consuming gummies that contain Delta 8:

1. What Are Delta 8 THC Gummies?

Delta 8 gummies contain Delta 8 THC, which is the regarded as the younger brother of Delta 9 THC. Delta 8 is produced from the hemp plant, meaning a cannabis plant with less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC concentration. Delta 8 can be extracted from the hemp flower using a chemical conversion process called fractional distillation, which converts CBD to Delta 8.

Like other THC edibles, Delta 8 THC gummies come in a variety of different flavors and shapes. However, contrary to smoking, gummies containing Delta 8 begin with a mellower effect, and gradually increase the effect over time.

At ATLRx, we always recommend our customers to start low. Try a 10mg Delta 8 edible and wait at least 2 hours before enjoying more. That will give you an idea of how to start low and increase your dosing accordingly. Once you find your appropriate dosing amount (whether its 10mg, 30mg, 60mg or even 100mg – we don’t judge), you can feel comfortable to take that dose accordingly. Overtime, you will find the right dosage amount for you, providing you with a fun and blissful psychoactive feeling.

2. Are These Gummies Legal?

The legal matters surrounding Delta 8 and all of its products are complex. According to federal law, anything containing less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC is legal. However, no laws have been passed regarding Delta 8. So, this means that Delta 8 is federally legal.

Some states have imposed a ban on Delta 8 Gummies; these include Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, and Delaware. So before buying a Delta 8 product, make sure it is still legal in your state.

Additionally, our delta 8 gummies have a QR code, which scanned would take you directly to the lab report. Most delta 8 gummies vendors don’t provide this transparency, that ATLRx strives to educate customers about.

When purchasing delta 8 THC gummies, always remember that we send each package with a notice to law enforcement, explaining the products that we are shipping. We also include a comprehensive delta 8 dosing guide to help customers understand how much delta 8 gummies should they consume.

Where we are based in Atlanta, Georgia, at the time of writing this article, Delta 8 THC products are 100% legal in the state of GA. If Delta 8 legality is questioned, ATLRx will discontinue to sell those products, in accordance with the law.

3. How Do These Gummies Work?

Our gummies are one of the tastiest and strongest (100mg gummies coming soon) ones you’ll find in the market. So, if you’re new to Delta 8, we recommend starting with a quarter or half of the gummy. Gummies can usually take a couple of hours to kick in, so make sure you’ve cleared your schedule before consuming them. There are many factors with how long it would take a THC gummy to kick in, including what you have eaten that day, the size of the meal, whether you have smoked or ingested other hemp or THC products, and many other reasons (really – sometimes it truly depends on your mood).

Most people who have consumed our gummies have reported feeling a sense of euphoria and increased productiveness. In addition, it will improve your ability to focus without making you lazy or lethargic. Usually, the effects are at their peak after three to four hours, and the overall experience lasts for anywhere between 4-8 hours.

4. What are the Benefits of Consuming Delta 8 Gummies?

Delta 8 has proven to help those individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, sleep or eating disorders. In addition, although research is still underway, some patients going through chemotherapy have reported that the Delta 8 gummies have helped them cope with related pains. The science of cannabis is still very new (I mean, it’s only been 3 years since hemp was federally legalized), but delta 8 THC does provide therapeutic relief for many people.

Consuming Delta 8 can also help patients with chronic pain, and it can eliminate symptoms of nausea.

Keep in mind, hemp related products, including CBD and Delta 8 have not been evaluated by the FDA. The statements above are what many of our customers claim as part of sharing their story.

5. When Should I Avoid Consuming the Gummies?

Although the psychoactive effects of delta 8 are lower than that of delta 9, you should still follow proper SOPs when consuming these gummies. For example, avoid using heavy machinery or driving a vehicle after consumption.

It will also be good to avoid mixing it with other medications or substances, such as alcohol. In addition, if you’re on any medication, it will be best to consult your doctor before consuming Delta 8 THC gummies or any cannabinoids. Cannabis does play a role with other medications, and basic knowledge helps us understand that if you have any conditions of the heart/blood, we highly recommend you talk to a physician before trying any delta 8 or CBD products.

It is also pertinent to mention; Delta 8 THC will show up on a drug test since these tests are not advanced enough to differentiate between Delta 8 and Delta 9. So, if you are require to pass a drug test or if your job requires you to take one regularly, you should avoid consuming these gummies.

6. Is It Safe for Older People?

Yes, Delta 8 products are safe for the older generation. However, like any other THC product, you should start slow. Although Delta 8 has not caused any fatal incidents, we would suggest starting with lower doses if your tolerance level is extremely low. We at ATLRx, recommend any of our new patients to delta 8 THC, to start with about 10 mg of an edible. Wait, and then wait. In 2 hours, if you are enjoying what you are feeling, don’t take more. If you need additional relief, increase your dosage accordingly. You can always take less and be in control, but once you take it, you must enjoy it to the end. If you’ve taken too much, you might get uncomfortably high and end up feeling anxious and paranoid. In that case, we would recommend taking some CBD (it really helps bring back control), followed by doing some basic breathing exercises or even some yoga! Just remember, it will pass after some good rest. Put on a fun movie, or listen to some music to enjoy the ride.

7. Can I Consume CBD with Delta 8 and are there any side effects?

Yes, it is safe to consume Delta 8 and CBD together. However, it is important to remember that CBD will minimize the psychoactive effects of Delta 8 even further. So, if you want to enjoy the mellow high, we suggest not consuming the two together.

Consuming Delta 8 can affect your appetite and give you “munchies.” In addition, you may get red eyes or a dry mouth, but it will be far less intense than the effects of Delta 9 (depending again on how much you take). Since Delta 8 gummies are less potent than Delta 9’s, you will not get paranoid or anxious when consumed in lower doses.

If delta 8 THC is too strong, we would recommend doing a 3:1 ratio of CBD:THC, which will minimize the psychoactive feelings, and still provide the medicinal benefits of cannabis. Most medical cannabis patients aim for 2:1 CBD:THC ratio in understanding the dosing of their cannabinoids.

8. Infused, sprayed or injected – how does the delta 8 get in my gummy?

Many companies produce a delta 8 gummy by spraying or injecting the final product. That is not good, because each gummy does not get an equal amount of delta 8 THC. With sprayed gummies, you will notice that one piece is not as effective as the other, which makes sense since a human will be usually doing the spraying process. With injected, it’s the same process. After the gummies are made, they will be injected with delta 8 THC distillate. This will provide an extremely bitter taste and an awful consistency when you try to bite or cut the gummy (I tried to cut it and distillate is still stuck to my knife). Injected gummies don’t ship well either, since the distillate tends to leak out of gummy.

Gummies that are infused during the initial creation, is where the delta 8 THC will be equally distributed across the gummy. Infused gummies are easy to be cut into smaller pieces, especially for micro dosing delta 8 THC, and getting the expected feeling from the dosage. Our ATLRx gummies provide an infused and delicious tasting gummy in a variety of flavors.

9. How are the gummies made?

ATLRx gummies are made using the highest manufacturing process. It all starts with the delta 8 THC distillate, which is produced from CBD. Delta 8 distillate (or many like to call it “delta 8 disty”), is the core ingredient that is used to make all our delta 8 products: gummies, vapes, concentrates, flowers. The distillate is mixed into the recipe at a low temperature (without the flavoring), and not making sure the temperature does not reach too high. At high temperatures, Delta 8 THC converts into another cannabinoid called CBN. Once the distillate is emulsified, the gummies are than separated for different flavors. Once the flavors are added, they are placed in a mold for 24-48 hours. Once the gummies have formed a shape, they go through a sugar sift and sit on the dryer racks for another 5-6 days (depending on the amount of moisture in the air that day – who would have thought). Once they have dried thoroughly, a sample of each strength is sent to a registered lab for a final test result.

ATLRx gummies are 100% vegan and gluten-free, made using quality ingredients and a quality process! We make sure every one of our customers is absolutely satisfied with our delta 8 gummies!

10. What are the dosing principles of Delta 8?

We tell all our customers over and over again, to start low and increase dosage as needed. What do we mean by a low dosage? We would recommend all adults to start with a dosage of about 10 mg (That’s a 1/3 of our 30 mg gummies, and ¼ of our 60 mg gummies). We have many adults that take over 100mg delta 8 daily, but they got to that level of comfort after understanding delta 8 dosing and their body. We additionally, like to break it down into a novice user, intermediate user, and expert user.

Novice User – never tried cannabis but has heard about delta 8 THC and thinks it can help them live a better life. We would recommend starting very low since you have never used any cannabis product (this includes CBD, since Delta 8 does provide a psychoactive feeling). Start at roughly 10 mg and try to clear your schedule that day to enjoy the effects.

Intermediate User – tried cannabis many years ago, still consume some THC products occasionally. Start with roughly 15-20 mg of Delta 8 THC to understand how you should dose accordingly.

Expert User – has tried a variety of cannabis products, but includes those folks that use / smoke cannabis on daily basis. Start with a 30mg Delta 8 gummy and dose up accordingly after 2 hours.

There is definitely such a thing as taking too much delta 8 THC. It can increase paranoia and anxiety, especially if the user is not used to a large cannabis dose. Check out this article that talks about what you should do if you’re just too high! The good thing, nobody overdoses on cannabis, and its absolutely safe to consume. My best way to ride it out, is usually Netflix and some popcorn to enjoy and drift away. If that’s not your thing, maybe try taking a walk in the park? Nonetheless, if you are feeling uncomfortable after consuming cannabis, you have definitely taken more than you should. Ride it out this time around, but keep it as a safe reminder what that dose was, and of course dose appropriately moving forward.

Concluding Notes

Delta 8 THC is an attractive compound for many, especially for those who don’t like the intense high they get from Delta 9 or do not have access to delta 9 products due to state legislation. Delta 8 gummies can be found everywhere, but after this article you should feel educated in what to understand when selecting a vendor to purchase delta 8 THC from.
